To "Stripe" or Not to "Stripe".....?!*

Hello Fashionistas! Stripes are another trend this Spring that have been seen all over the runways. I know a lot of women don't like wearing stripes but, when worn and proportioned correctly stripes can fit and flatter a woman's body. Here are a few tips on how to look GREAT when you wear them. When wearing VERTICAL stripes choose darker colors and go one size larger than you typically wear to keep the stripes from clinging and stretching. It will give you a long and lean look.  When looking for HORIZONTAL stripes look for unevely spaced stripes that are closer together at your waist. It will silence the myth that wearing horizontal stripes makes you look wider.  If you love stripes but are uncomfortable wearing them use them in your accessories. Below I paired my striped maxi dress with a jean jacket, tan sandals, and a straw hat.

Enjoy,
Sindy

  1. Dear Sindy,

I love this look on you but I'm afraid to add it to my wardrobe cuz baby got back and then some. I always felt that stripes make me look bigger. What style tips can you give me to bring a new look to my wardrobe?

    1. Thanks honey! Please do not be afraid of wearing stripes its a FUN trend this summer. You can start out with a top and pair with something neutral at the bottom like jeans. Or you can accesories with stripes like with a scarf, tote bag, or cute bangles. Be playful with it!

  2. Great post Sindy. I have the same dress and I find that when I wear it I look taller than I already am. The material is great & it falls & flows really well. It makes me feel extra feminine.

    Thanks 4 sharing.
