Denim Cut-Offs: Create Your Own

Hello Fashionistas! Nothing says summer quite like your favorite pair of denim shorts! The best part about denim cutoffs you can Do-It-yourself with an old  pair of jeans that you have in your closet.  Here are a few steps on to make your own cutoffs.

Step 1: Go through your closet and find a pair of jeans you can part with.

Step 2: Look in the mirror, lean a little forward so you get the right angle. Decide what length you want on your shorts and use a pen to put a little mark right about where the cut should be.You should probably cut farther down than what feels natural. Mark off where you want the jeans cut off.

Step 3:  Take your jeans off and lay them flat and even on the floor. Fold them once and reinforce the mark if you have to.

Step 4: Cut your jeans! Try to cut them in an angle so that you leave a little more fabric at the back. You need to make space for your butt! To fray the edges run a blade/knife over them.

Step 5: Throw them in the washing machine and your DONE!

Here are a few pics on how I wore my own denim cutoffs.

Blouse: Helmet Lang for Intermix
Shorts: Old American Eagle jeans
Shoes: Ralph Lauren
Accessories: Michael Kors, Kenneth Jay Lane, Trina Turk
